New Delhi: Earlier known as Sixer king of the country for hitting six sixes in an over in the T20 world cup, Yuvraj Singh made a fantastic comeback in the one-day international Cricket after three years with his career best 150 runs against England. He scored a century in the international match after six years. Yuvraj had to leave International cricket in 2011 when he fall prey of cancer. However, he made the comeback, but it couldn’t last for too long as he was dropped three years ago for not performing well.
In this high-scoring match in Katak on Thursday, Yuvraj Singh awarded with the man of the match for making India an unassailable win in the series over the guest country. In the post-match presentation ceremony, an emotional Yuvraj said It is only he who knows how he fights and struggles to make a comeback in the International cricket. “I never thought if could make space for myself in the team. People lose hope in me, but I didn’t forgive practicing. I have seen many ups and downs throughout the career,” the veteran cricketer said adding that his Father and Guruji are the force which helps him back in the team.
Former cricketer Virender Sehwag twitted: ” Yuvraj you first beat cancer and now the England. Great cricketer back at the helm after such a the long struggle”. Yuvraj made 256 runs partnership with the former captain MS Dhoni, who also scored hundred in the match.
Yuvraj said, ” I and Dhoni played very sensible cricket after understanding the condition. We made a steady beginning and culminate it with aggressive hits. We had a plan to end up the inning at 340-350, but players came next to us dragged the scoreboard to whooping 380 plus.” He further said indeed it’s my best score in the International cricket, but he was hopeful to make a much bigger score in the future.
