New Delhi: Bollywood Biggie actor Rishi Kapoor on Saturday takes on to the political parties for naming public places in the name of their top leadership. Rishi said there are other public figures who have done something for the society too.
Earlier in the week, Rishi had stunned everyone with his revelation that he had attended a private tea party organized by underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim for him in Dubai in 1988. Kapoor is in the Pink City for attending the Jaipur film festival. While interacting with the media the veteran actor said the tradition of naming public places like Airports, Railway stations, Roads should be banned.
“There are other figures in the society whose work was acknowledged worldwide and are far above in their work. They should be given precedence over others.” Rishi said. The actor also raised the same issue last year by categorically naming Gandhi family for placing their name in every important public place.
Rishi urge to tweak the trend of naming public places as it plagues the artists who gives their entire life in serving the country. Naming Lata Mangeshkar and JRD Tata, Rishi Pointed out that can their role in the society be ignored over some bunch of politician.
Rishi said it’s become a vogue of naming the important public place in the name of leaders. To give tribute to their veteran leaders, political parties undermines the work of another who does something for nation development.
