New Delhi: Limping education system in Delhi will soon see a boost as Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi government has decided to pump 14,000 new teachers in the government schools.
According to sources, notification for the new vacancy will be issued within next two months and these vacant post will be filled by the end of the current financial year.
An officer on the request of anonymity said Delhi Subordinate service Selection Board (DSSSB) will conduct examination for the 8,298 vacant post in 1,024 Delhi Government school. Rest 5,826 hiring of teachers will be done for Municipal Corporation Schools in Delhi.
Officers of Directorate of Education (DOE) is currently drafting detail plan report (DPR) regarding the number of vacant seats required to be filed in different subjects. The post will be filed under PGT, TGT, Special Education, Physical Education, Primary Education, Music, Dancing and others.
Out of 5,826 teachers hired for MCD schools, 4,366 will be enrolled for primary education only. DSSSB on Wednesday has given an affidavit in Delhi High Court stating that it is soon going to come up with the advertisement for the vacancy.
The board has assured the High Court that exam will be conducted for all the post between 17 September to 15 October. It is believed that government will complete the entire process and appoint the new teachers by the end of the current financial year.
Guest teachers demand precedence over other
As the news of New appointment in the Delhi Government school goes around, All India Guest Teacher Association become active. Shoaib Rana, an office bearer in the association, demands that guest teachers guest teachers who are giving their services for years in the Delhi Government school should be given precedence in the new appointments. He said it is the duty of the government to preserve the rights of guest teachers. Currently, the city has a dearth of 27 thousand teachers and 17 thousand teachers are giving their services in government schools. He demanded age relaxation should be given in the appointment of guest teachers.
