New Delhi: Delhi Technical University (DTU) east Delhi campus, which is going to kick start from coming September, got a good response from the students. The DTU administration received 3,340 application from the aspirant students for the very first academic session.
The east Delhi campus will run from the Shahid Sukhdev College of Business Studies situated at Vivek Vihar area. DTU has initially decided to run Management courses from the campus. Apart from BBA and MBA Courses DTU will run BA in Economics programme from its new campus.
One official said we have a total of 300 seats in our east Delhi campus. Despite that, the total number of student who applied for BBA and BA honours are 2,499 and for MBA course 841 applications are received by DTU. The University, which was previously known as Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) planning to increase the seats to 600 in the next academics session.
For BBA and BA Economics
After the first cut off, released on 31 of July, DTU administration is now indulging documents verification and fees collection process for BBA and BA Economics course. Second and third cut off for both the courses will come on 10th and 17th of August respectively. Those who secure seats in the first cut off can withdraw it till 16th of August.
For MBA course
For MBA course, after cut off released on 28th of July DTU has conducted counselling process on 2ed and 3ed of August. DTU is giving 70 percent weighting to the marks scored in graduation and 30 percent weighting to interview. Second cut off will be released on 8th of August and on 17th of August on the spot counselling will be conducted for vacant seats.
DTU was previously known as Delhi College of Engineering and working under the Delhi Univerisity (DU). However, amid so much protest it was separated from the DU and given a status of University, which exclusively dealing in the field of Engineering.
