Actor Ranveer Singh may face legal battle for disgracing women in advertisement

New Delhi: Actor Ranvir Singh who will be in silver screen coming Friday with his recent release Befikre,  can face legal trouble for his controversial advertisement allegedly representing the woman in Indecent way.

A Lawyer has filed a complaint against Ranveer Singh in National Commission of Woman( NCW) for his recent advertisement of Jack and Jones Company which is also made co-accused  in the complaint

According to the complaint before NCW, Ranveer  Singh Disgraciously and shamefully insult a woman in Jack and Jones hoarding which release on 2nd of December. Advertisement becomes viral in social media right after the release.

Advocate Gaurav Gulati, who filed the complaint said Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh could be seen by posing slinging a woman on his shoulder, suggesting that women are nothing more than a mere object, and an apparent punch line by the side that says, “don’t hold back, take your  work home.”

Complainant states that this attitude towards woman is very derogatory. How a famous actor can do a cheap and mean act for the sake of money.  Actor and  the company do such act without taking second thought what message it would give in the society. It’s going to affect the youth view toward women as crores of people follow the stars.

It further said this advertisement encourage gender equality and outrage women modesty. This is also an offense under Indian penal code and comes under sexual harassment of women at workplace (prevention, prohibition, and redressal) act, 2013.

If NCW takes cognizance on the matter, it could lead trouble to the actor. He can be summoned to reply on the allegation. However, this  is not the first time any actor  has made such kind of advertisement. Advertisement portraying woman in the advertisement is quite common today.
